Class of 1974 Reunion Golf Outing

As promised, we have the following update on the Fifty (50) Year Chaminade Class of 1974 Reunion Golf Outing. This event will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2024.Photo of greens

 

We are inviting both golfers and non-golfers to this event. We hope to see you whether you play golf or not. The event will take place at Glen Echo Country Club. Home - Glen Echo Country Club (gecc.org).

 

The First Tee Time is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. The Driving Range and Putting Area will be available prior to tee off (weather permitting). Each team will begin their round on the Number One Hole, so you will want to be on time to make sure you can witness the athletic excellence that will be on display for those first drives.

 

You may purchase beer or soda in the Pro Shop prior to teeing off. The Pro Shop is the only location where you may use a credit card. The Halfway House on the course will not be available, so get your beverages in the Pro Shop!!!

 

There will be a post golf Happy Hour in the Glen Echo Clubhouse after golf has concluded. This will include: Hors d'oeuvres and a CASH ONLY BAR, SO YOU NEED TO BRING CASH IF YOU PLAN ON HAVING A DRINK IN THE CLUBHOUSE. We are expecting the bar to open after the first foursome has concluded their round. This should be at approximately 4:30 P.M.

 

We are hoping to have as many classmates as possible at this event, To that end, this function will be open to both golfers and non-golfers. At the present time, we have 32 classmates who have indicated that they are wanting to play in this auspicious event. We are limiting the golf field to 40 players. If you don't want to play but want to come to enjoy the 19th hole, we would love to see you there as well.  The Country Club has asked that we give them a "head count" for food preparation reasons.  So, please let Barry McClure know by email of your interest to attend as a non-golfer or golfer. His email address is: [email protected]. For the golfers in the group, please let us know if you would like to play with a specific classmate and your handicap, if you have one.

Non-Golfer - $25

Finally, this would not be happening without the support and influence that Mr. Fister has at GECC. So, when you see him tell him thanks. Maybe, by that point he will have had a few drinks under his belt. If so, see if he is willing to give you his member number. Remind him that sharing was one of the important values we learned at Chaminade.
